[/style][style=text-align: right; font-family: courier new; color: #2f2c2c; font-size: 10pt; line-height: 8pt;]Wait a second. Time turners? Accidents? Anachronisms?! What is this mess?! I don't understand! We're sorry that our plot seems confusing! Honestly, what the basic formula of our plot is: Time Turner + Accident = Many people from the past get thrust forward in time. Their future counterparts have gone missing, and their past selves have appeared in their place. For example, Lucius came home one day to find his wife had gone missing. After reporting the incident to the Ministry and waiting a horrid amount of time, it was revealed to him that the Narcissa he once knew, in the past, had now appeared as if from out of nowhere. This is happening to a lot of people and it's causing some inner chaos at the Ministry. That's basically what the main conflict of our plot is, and all you really need to understand. <3 So...this is basically just the book? Nope, negative, uh-uh, wrong. While this roleplay does take place during 1995, Harry Potter's fifth year of school, we have no intention of following many of the small plot details associated with the book. Each action has a reaction in the world around you; we have at least ten people that are playing around with time and causing a whole mess of reactions. Because characters such as Sirius Black and Arthur Weasley have been replaced by their younger counterparts, certain plans and organizations will need to regroup. We have many things planned to keep our members entertained. This will come in the form of world and school events, so that we may push a dynamic site-wide story line that every member can be involved in. We also have hopes, when the member base is big enough, to create a school system that will make the Hogwarts experience much more real for students. Can I make an Original Character? Go ahead! While you'll still be held to standard application review, we adore seeing a creatively made character come to life. For the time being, we are allowing OCs to be made as Anachronisms. Do not expect this to be an easy thing to receive, though. The admins will be reading over OC Anachronism carefully to make sure that we can trust you with such a responsibility. These slots will be very limited, and on a first-come, first-serve basis only. Can we play canons as Anachronisms, ones that aren't listed? For the most part, yes! While we will need to approve your choice (please message one of the admins or leave a question in the cbox) and, of course, review the application you post, we would love to see who you think would make an interesting plot device! Should I apply for anyone special? Who do we want? Anyone that you can play well. If you are having a tough time deciding between several characters and want to know who would have better plot opportunities, ask the cbox! Either a well-informed member or a staff member would be happy to help you decide! Can I be staff? We are always looking for someone to help with the site! If you already an active member of Young Blood, please feel free to message either Kat or Devvi with your experience/examples and we'll see if you'd fit our team well! Advertising does not require you to be a staff member, though ;) Can I play Voldemort? No. If you'd like a more detailed answer, please message one of the admins! What will happen with v.5 of Proboards? We are already on our way to creating the new version of this site on a separate board. While we may be offline for several hours come the day we upgrade, it will barely feel like a speed bump :) Why do house points matter? The short answer: Rewards. The long answer: House points will be given out for well-written threads, by professors within threads, and for various actions you take on this board! They will also be taken away (though not for writing poorly or having an off day, but rather if your character behaves in a way that would cause a teach to punish appropriately). It adds just a touch of sparkling reality to the site, creates a real reason why your character may not want to shoot heroin in the Greenhouses right after lunch, and gives us (the admins) a reason to reward you (the roleplayers). We aim to create a school system on the site, eventually, and this allows us to start that! What rewards do we mean? Parties for your house, advance knowledge for certain events, exclusive use of the IC-Cbox, and avoiding certain restrictions. For instance, if a house (as a whole) behaves particularly badly and is caught by a Professor, they might experience limited posting abilities on areas outside of the Castle. I sense some hive mind here. Will that happen to me? Most likely. Devvi and Kat share the same brainwaves most of the time and end up answering questions the same way at the same time. It's starting to affect our members. You join, you assimilate. You assimilate, you're a part of the family. It's a part of the process. DO NOT RESIST IT. <3 So, I'm interested, but I'm afraid I might not have enough time-- We understand. Wholeheartedly. Sincerely. Real life is something that everyone has to deal with, sometimes it gets in the way of having fun. We only request that if this is the case with you, that you do not join the site, or request to take on a character that you simply do not have the time for. It's unfair to everyone, since the dynamic of our site is more of an interactive story instead of leisurely playground. Everyone that joins and participates is important. If you can keep us in your thoughts for when life does free up some time for you, that would be great. We would love to have you. However, if you think that there will be severe conflicts, then please consider waiting to dive into this. Kat and Devvi would really appreciate it. [/style][/style] |
